Shown in size 48, worn with 11” of positive ease. Ease is very personal, this cardigan is intended to have a relaxed fit and will fit most comfortably with anywhere from 3-12” of positive ease.
MATERIALS
(1050, 1150, 1250, 1400) (1550, 1700, 1850, 2000) yards DK weight yarn.
Shown here in Retrosaria Beiroa (100% Portuguese wool 273 yards(250 meters)/100g: (4, 5, 5, 6) (6, 7, 7, 8) balls: ‘Rosa Chá’ 536.
Needles
US 7/4.5mm: circular or straight needles
US 5/3.75mm: circular or straight needles
Notions required
Tapestry needle, 4 ¾” buttons
Gauge
18 stitches x 24 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch on larger needles
Adjust needle size to obtain gauge

This cardigan is worked in pieces and seamed together.
Not sure how to choose the best amount of ease for you? Measure a favorite garment across the chest at the armpit. Next measure yourself around the chest at the underarm, above the bust and divide by 2. Subtract the garment measurement from the chest measurement and that is the amount of ease.
