Otarre
Otarrea is the basque word for basket, as the main pattern of this little vest is a knit and purl basket pattern. It’s a one skein vest, for a 2-3 month old baby, so it is a good stash diving pattern for that stray dk yarn skein that fell off a bigger pattern.
This pattern belongs to a series of baby clothing patterns I’m creating as my son grows up, “A Little Boy’s Knits”.
Yarn: 1 Drops Cotton Merino 110/50gr skein or any other DK skein.
Needles: 4mm needles.
Gauge: 10x10 cm in basket weave 18sts and 30 rows.
Other notions: Stitch markers, scrap of yarn and needle for live stitches.
Techniques needed: Long tail cast on, Knitting in the round, Picking up stitches, three needle bind off, Jeny’s stretchy bind off.
Measurements: Chest (23 cm), Length (21 cm).
