I was so excited to hear that Notré Dame de Paris will be reopening this year! The projected date is “December” and I will actually be in Paris in December - I hope I am able to visit it again!

To celebrate I’ve created a gothic cathedral inspired hat (and cowl pattern is also available) for LYS Day 2024.

Knit in stranded colorwork, you will need 50g each in two colors of DK weight yarn… one solid and one variegated to mimic the stained glass windows.

The ribbing is set up to help form the stone window frames, with pointed arches leading to a rose window. The “ceiling” has bits of reflecting the colors as the sun shines through the windows. Finally the crown is formed to mimic the ribbed vault.
