'Outback' A Long Loop for Mino
This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino. (1971-2004)
This pattern was updated in November 2015. (Current version: Cowl 3.0 and Scarf 2.1)
“Outback” is the fourth design in “A Long Loop for Mino” series, after “Dreaming,” “Boomerang” and “Songlines”. It is designed so that the first half is dominant in Stockinette stitch and the second half in Garter stitch. The three tonal color stripes add dimension to the texture variation. It is long enough to wrap around your neck two or three times.
Gauge (blocked): 8 sts and 13 rounds = 2”/5cm in Stockinette St.
Skill required: K, P
Note: “Outback the Scarf” pattern is available for free to those who purchase this pattern.
All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.**
Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU (www.hokariminoru.org) to meet Mino.
