Needles
Size 3 (3.25 mm) 16” and 29” circular and dpns and size 5 (3.75 mm) 16” and 29” circular and dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge
25 sts and 32 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles

Notes
This cardigan is worked flat from the top down with set in sleeves as follows: stitches are cast on for the back and short rows are used to shape the shoulders, when the armhole depth has been reached these stitches are placed on waste yarn to await the fronts. Fronts are picked up from the shoulder, shaped with short rows and worked to the armhole depth. These three pieces are joined to work flat and the body is worked with shaping. Sleeves are picked up from the armholes and knit down using short rows to shape the caps. The buttonband and collar are picked up and worked afterwards.
