Outlander C2C blanket
I am a BIG fan of the Outlander books and TV show, and knew I had to make a blanket for it. Each panel is made with Corner to Corner stitches and then joined together to form a blanket. I used white for the background of all of my panels, but you can use other colours if you prefer.
I chose what I considered to be the most important elements of the story - Claire Fraser, Jamie Fraser, Brianna Randall, Roger MacKenzie, the standing stones, Claire’s wedding rings, the Fraser stag, and two quotes.
I made the original blanket with a 5mm hook, and am remaking it with a 3.5mm to get a tighter weave. Depending on the image, each square will use roughly 1 to 1.5 skeins for the background (I’ve been using Carnival yarn, which has about 271m/skein). The image requirements vary with each panel, but it will be far less than 1 skein/panel for the other colours. I tend to leave a 5cm or so tail on either end for weaving in, so don’t forget to take that into account. This ends up being a okay for a queen size bed, but better for a double bed with the 5mm.
