• DESCRIPTION

This pattern is written using US crochet terms.

The Rent Shawl Knitting Pattern will allow you to create a large triangle scarf with two stripes in the design.

This shawl is seen in Outlander season 1 episode 5 ‘Rent’ worn over a tartan dress when Claire attends to the wounds of the clan MacKenzie.

The main stitch used in this pattern is the US term – TR – treble crochet.

This creates an open network of stitches that make up a large triangle.

Yarn

Yarn A – Cascade 220 – Smoke Heather 9450 100g/220yards x 1 (S) x 2 (M) x 3 (L/XL) x 4/5 (XL/XXL)

Yarn B – Cascade 220 – Black 8555 100g/220yards x 1 (S/M) x 1 (L/XL) x 1 (XL/XXL)

Yarn C – Cascade 220 – Shire 2445 100g/220yards x 1 (S/M) x 1 (L/XL) x 1 (XL/XXL)

Yarn weight – Medium Weight 04/Aran/Worsted/10 Ply.

Hook

5 mm (US H-8) hook.

Level – Basic

This is a basic level crochet pattern and the techniques involved are creating a chain, treble crochet, and changing colors.

• SIZING

Length (laying flat and not stretched out) = 48 inches/122 cm
Width (wingspan laying flat and not stretched out) = 26 inches/66 cm
One size (Small – as you can see in the photos)
You can adjust the shawl easily for your size, by working more rows of treble crochet in Yarn A before you work the stripes.
