Outlander Time Travel Shawl
This pattern has been inspired by the Outlander story and the warmth of wool needed in Scotland particularly in the 1700s.
In the television series Claire wears a shawl similar in style to this.
This is a triangular shaped shawl that is knitted from the centre top down and the split coloured border made to finish the piece.
It’s a pattern suitable for all abilities and a great introduction to making a shawl and working a small amount of lace style stitching.
Size is approx. 140cm wingspan, and 67cm in length from centre neck edge to the point
It has been created in the size here, but could easily be made bigger by continuing with the main body colour to your desired size and then knitting the border.
I haven’t included a guage chart as its not really necessary for this piece.
The yarn I have used for this is Cascade Eco Plus, a gorgeous 100% Peruvian Highland wool that’s both soft and springy to the touch. A perfect yarn to create a warm woollen shawl, that’s available in a wide range of colours.
You will require 3 colours to make the shawl as it is in the photos.
