Let me show you how to crochet a baby dress with a lace collar and hem! It is an easy pattern. I’m so excited to share this project with you. I’ve been crocheting for many years, and I love making baby clothes. This dress is perfect for a special occasion, or just a fun day out with your little one.

Baby Rainbow (Loops and Threads) #4 yarn was used to crochet this baby dress and is surprisingly soft and lightweight.

It’s a soft yarn that’s perfect for babies. I also used a crochet hook size G 6/4.00mm. The yarn is closer to a #3 or DK/Sportweight category even though it classified as a #4. This yarn has a slightly fuzzy texture and the color Sky Blue was used to make this dress. Remember this doesn’t seem to be your standard #4 yarn. Just make sure that the yarn you choose is soft and lightweight, and that you achieve gauge. 

The crochet Over Brook Baby dress is made in a simple top down fashion in 2 sizes, Newborn and 3 month.

It starts with a base chain, and then you work in rounds creating a lace neckline. The lace collar is added at the top of the yoke, by adding ch3 loops by crocheting under the bottom loops of the surface slip st’s, that are created in Round 6. The last round of the collar is finished with a Shell’s with Ears stitch. This stitch is used in all of my Over Brook Crochet Designs.
