From the age of ten onward, I was fortunate to be able to spend my summers in Austria with my mother’s family. I would always bring a pair of Isotoner slippers with me for the long flight, finding it a treat to walk around the plane so informally. I designed these slippers hoping to capture some of the comfort of that original pair, but with an even homier touch since these are handmade. I crafted the soles using a hole punch and a piece of leather, which provides some slip-resistant durability, and then gathered the top edges together with elastic cord---a quick, efficient shaping trick.
