I’m thrilled that my 30th Ravelry pattern is also my first free pattern to include mosaic colourwork! I hope you’ll be as addicted to it as I am! Check out my Ravelry store for other mosaic patterns, including my mosaic dishcloths!

This quick and easy scarf uses slip stitch/mosaic colour work, where only one colour of yarn is used at a time, for the diagonal stripe sections. It would be a great first pattern to try this technique. The mosaic diagonal stripes alternate with bold horizontal stripes to show off your colour choices!

The pattern is written for any yarn weight and includes a number of customization decisions, including working flat or in the round, working in garter or stockinette, and seaming options.

Yarn:
Two (or more) contrasting colours of any weight; sample uses bulky weight yarn, approximately 120 yards/110m of each colour. Sample shown in KnitPicks Snuggle Puff in Polliwog (Pink - Colour A) and Puffling (Yellow - Colour B)

Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required.

Needles:
Needle size and type determined by yarn choice and chosen assembly options; sample uses 8mm (US size 11) circular needles (32”/81cm long) for magic loop.

Finished Dimensions:
3”/7.5cm wide by 72”/183cm long lying flat; joined into an infinity scarf and worn looped double.

Pattern instructions: Written and charted instructions

Pattern Accessibility: The large text file for the pattern is written in 24 point sans serif font (Arial) in all black text. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out. Charts are included at the end, but they are not required to complete the pattern.
