The Overlapping Life hat can be made in a variety of sizes so that you can make one for every member of your family. Once you get the stitch down it makes for a very enjoyable mindless project. You can purchase the PDF of the pattern on Ravelry or it is available on my website for free.

The beauty of this pattern is that you can use any yarn weight you desire, making it a great project for those single skeins of special yarn you have in your stash. I would recommend having at least 150 yards of yarn so you have enough yarn for the hat and matching pom-pom.
