This pattern is for an overlay mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table runners, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

To create this project in similar colors, you will need approximately 1-1.5 oz of the background color, .5 oz of grey-blue for the body, a few yards of cream for the tail details, 1 oz of brown, .5 oz of red, and a couple yards of gold. (approximately 4 oz total when using #4 yarn & a 5.5 hook)
