Oversize Top/Vest
✿ DESCRIPTION ✿
Digital Pattern Only
This oversized top can be work as a sleeveless top or as a vest, together with a long-sleeve shirt beneath. It is designed for warmth and ease of wear. It helps cover fatty bits while offering a flattering silhouette. This top was made using the Clean Mosaic Crochet method, featuring a loose, comfortable shaping.
The extra advantage of using Clean Mosaic Crochet (CMC) here is that there are no cut yarn tails you have to deal with later. It is ideal mosaic crochet technique for making garments.
This is not a tutorial.
However I do provide links tutorials on CMC as well as various techniques and methods I used (should you want to use those techniques/methods).
✿ SIZING ✿
Because of the easy and loose fit, you don’t need to worry overly about exact and precise sizing. However it is not a one size fits all.
While it is a loose, casual fit, I recommended this for Australian Sz 8-16.
✿ PURCHASE INSTRUCTIONS ✿
This is a GRAPH with stitch-count notation (to save you from squinting and counting squares squares squares!!!). The pattern is designed to be worked in CMC but you are not limited to that method alone.
You are getting a number of graphs in PDF Digital download.
After payment, you will receive an email with the link for download.
✿ WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PDF ✿
1) There are multiple pages of graph. (The pdf is about 26 pages in total.)
Each of the graphs for Front and Back are offered separately:
on one-page graphs (idea for digital work where you can zoom in)
over 2-pages to help facilitate printing for those who choose to work from hardcopies.
There is also a graph for the tapered (optional) collar.
2) Preliminary Notes on CMC and how to read my charts.
3) Useful links to Clean Mosaic Crochet tutorial plus tutorials on various (optional) techniques used.
✿ LEVEL ✿
Intermediate to Advanced or anyone familiar with Mosaic Crochet; specifically CMC.

The manuals are written in English.
I use US crochet terms and universal crochet symbols.

Yarn: any DK (Double Knit) / 8ply yarns.
I used a combo of • Paintbox Simply DK • ICE Dora • Dazzle Heirloom 8ply • Patons Sierra
** please note that while I have given quantities for yarn: Paintbox Simply DK, you can choose to use any DK yarn or yarns/hook that will yield you a similar gauge.*
Number of Colours: 4 colours.
5 if using new contrast colour for Collar
Hook size:
2.2mm (for opt. Crab Stitch edging);
3mm (for MM foundation row, and opt. top-chaining),
4mm (for body)
Crochet Stitch used: CMC (Clean Mosaic Crochet)
Alternative Method: other mosaic crochet methods can be used but will most likely result in different sizes. And with overlay mosaic crochet, if you have to cut yarns at the end of every row, then you will have to find a way to deal with those cuts ends (fringes, borders, etc. )
