Ariana Grande wore an oversized pink knitted sweater on TikTok and broke the knitwear internet. I, and apparently everyone else, loved her cardigan and I determined my new mission in life was to design a version in crochet. The cardigan is crocheted from side-to-side using two strands of Loops & Threads Lush Alpaca super bulky yarn (except for the ribbed cuffs and hem, which are single stranded), and is made in one size just like Ariana’s… size GRANDE, of course! It is huge and squishy, extremely cozy and the most wonderfully outrageous thing eva. This very oversized cardigan will fit up to a 50” bust with 6” of ease, and is 25” long. The back panel and center of the hood are crocheted in one piece, and each outer edge of the hood that extends to the front is crocheted with each front panel. Best of all the stitch pattern is extremely easy throughout (using only single crochet and slip stitches), and the only real reason this pattern reaches intermediate level is because it incorporates some unconventional seaming methods, which I’ve illustrated clearly with annotated photographs.
