A delicate embroidered scarf, Ovid is a good introduction to intarsia. Knitted sideways from point to point, it consists of relaxing bias garter and stockinette stitch in the center. Tassels are added on each end, and flowers are embroidered in small clusters placed along the scarf.
A video tutorial is included explaining how to set-up and handle the intarsia method.
The sample used a handdyed fingering weight yarn and two lace-weight yarns held together for the center portion. You can choose any fingering weight combination for the design, playing with textures or staying simple.

Yarn :
You will need two colours of fingering weight yarn in the following amounts.
C1 : 400 meters – 438 yards
C2 : 350 meters – 385 yards

Sample used Les Petites Potions Sock in Fleurs Séchées (C1) and Filcolana Saga in Natural held together with Holst Garn Titicaca in Sandstone (C2).

Needles :
4 mm (US 6) needles
or size required to get gauge

Gauge :
22 sts x 26 rows per 10 cm – 4” in stockinette after blocking.

Note that a different gauge will affect size and yarn usage.

Une écharpe brodée délicate, Ovid est une bonne introduction à l’intarsia. Tricotée de pointe à pointe, elle se compose de point mousse en biais et jersey au centre. Des pompons sont ajoutés aux extrémités et des fleurs sont brodées sur la partie centrale.

Le modèle a été tricoté avec une laine fingering teinte main et deux fils dentelle tenus ensemble pour la partie centrale. Vous pouvez choisir toute combinaison de fingering voulue, en jouant avec les textures ou juste en couleurs différentes.
