About:
The Owenbristy Cowl is named for the village of Owenbristy in Co. Galway, Ireland.

When I designed the this cowl, the movement of the lace reminded me of gentle rolling of the hills in front of Dunguaire Castle, which is located in this area.

This fingering-weight cowl—with both written and charted directions—was created for when you need something with a mixture of easy and interesting in your hands!

This cowl provides a fun, easy, and wearable project to relax into. Filled with fun lace, rest rows and a ribbed border, it’s suitable for a confident beginner but engaging enough for a more advanced one. It’s a quick project available in one size.

Needle:
US 3 (3.25 mm), 16” (40 cm) circular needles or needles needed to get gauge

Suggested Yarn: Lichen and Lace, 1 Ply, Fingering, 1 skein, 100% Superwash Merino; 400 yds (370 m)/ 100 g or any fingering weight yarn of your choosing

Sample uses: Sugar Plum, approx. 180 yds (165 m)

Gauge: 23.5 stitches/32 rounds = 4” (10 cm) square in Body Pattern.

Other Notions: darning needle, 1 BOR marker and 11 stitch markers for lace

Special Techniques:
Knit, purl, increasing (yo), decreasing (k2tog, ssk), cast on & bind off

Final Measurements:
19” (48 cm) circumference x 9” (23 cm) tall
