This Owl applique embellishment

Appliqués are fantastic for adding a personal touch to gifts; they are great for embellishing clothing, scarves, bags, blankets, pillows, card making, scrapbooking and much, much more.

This pattern is for 1 motif only.
The pattern is written in English, using both UK & US terminology.
My patterns have step by step written instructions, including photos when necessary.
Skill level: easy.
Size: all my appliqués work up to being no bigger 5 Inches or 13 cm and are designed to fit on a 6 inch or 15 cm granny square.
Materials: DK yarn in a variety of colours, 4mm or G6 hook, scissors, darning needle and sewing needle.

Techniques used: Reading patterns, holding hook and yarn, yarn over, chain stitch, slip stitch, work in rounds, work in rows, increase, finish/fasten off and weave ends.

UK Terms: double, half treble, treble & double treble crochet.
US Terms: single, half double, double & treble crochet.

Decreasing: dc2tog (UK) or sc2tog (US) means to crochet 2 stitches together to create a decrease. Insert your hook into the next stitch where you are going to create the decrease, yarn over and pulling through, don’t complete the stitch, two loops on the hook, insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pulling through, three loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through all three loops that are on the hook.

Puff Stitch: Yarn over & insert the hook into the designated stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and insert the hook into the same stitch, yarn over pull through, try to keep your loops loose rep from * to * 2 more times, 9 loops are on the hook, yarn over and pull through all the loops on the hook 1 puff stitch complete.
