Owl Eyes Illusion
or buy at Payhip or LoveCrafts
Would you like a large pair of owl’s eyes looking at you?
When you stand directly in front of the illusion you see only narrow stripes. When you look from the side the owl will be looking at you.
The hanging shown in the photo was made using DK yarns and measures approximately 35 cm x 65 cm (14” x 26”). I used approximately 180 metres (200 yards) of Stylecraft Special DK in Citron and Dark Brown. You could use any thickness of yarn but this would change the overall size.
It is mounted on a thin board. (See my videos on Mounting illusion Knits 1 and 2.) It could also be incorporated into other items such as a shawl or afghan.
The last image is an animation.
