This pattern was inspired by the snowy days I spent writing my Masters thesis on Ancient Greek historians. I needed something to keep my coffee warm while I pored over seemingly endless books and intellectual conundrums, and while the landscape outside grew white and still. The owl motif, representing the sacred bird of Athena, goddess of erudition and of fiber arts, unites for me two of my passion s, knitting and Classics.

Notes:
This pattern also requires a set of 2 dpn needles, size 8 US (or other mid-size dpn needles). One skein is more than sufficient. Buttons of multiple size and color along with embroidery thread are also required.
