Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare and handicraft. The owl became one of her most important emblems and a symbol of wisdom used by especially the ancient Athenians. Who better then, to protect your portal to knowledge and wisdom? The pattern offers two sizes, the small size fits a kindle e-reader and the larger an iPad tablet. It is also possible to adjust the sizes further using the guidelines provided in the pattern.

This is a pdf pattern that will be available for download immediately after purchase. The pattern is written in English and uses US terminology. The pattern includes photographs to demonstrate special techniques and the assembly of different parts. The pattern also includes links to video tutorials demonstrating specific methods.

SKILL LEVEL
The pattern uses different crochet stitches including single, and double crochets as well as single bobble crochet and the shell stitch. While many aspects are demonstrated with photographs and video tutorials, some familiarity with crochet methods are required. The pattern is thus suitable for advanced beginners or intermediate crocheters.

YARN
This pattern was made using a fine cotton yarn (yarn weight 2). It is possible to use a different yarn weight but take note that this will affect the estimates for the amount of yarn needed, the final size and the size of hook needed.
Main body needs around 175 yds/ 160 m for the small and 388 yds/ 355 m for the large size.
The head needs around 36 yds/ 33 m for the small and 53 yds/ 48 m for the large.
For the eyes and beak need around 18 yds/ 16 m for the small and large.
For the pupils need around 13 yds/ 11 m for the small and large.

OTHER MATERIALS
Crochet hook, for the pattern a US 2 (2,5 mm) sized hook was used. You will also need a sewing needle, scissors, and stitch markers.

SIZE
The smaller version fits a Kindle e-reader (6.9” x 4.9” x .32” / 174.2 x 124.6 x 8.1 mm).
The larger version fits an 11-inch ipad (7.03” × 9.75” × 0.23” / 178.5 x 247.6 x 5.9mm).
Notes have been included on how to adjust the sizes further if needed.
