Owlet Set
“Students may each bring an owl.” Just one? But this set of three is too adorable to split up and perfect for children of all ages. Perhaps you could share with other students that weren’t able to bring a pet.
Yarn Requirements:
20g each of two colors Fingering Weight held together will complete all three owls.
Shown in Jig Monkey (92 yards/20grams, 75% merino, 25% nylon colors: Mixed Berry & Very Berry).
Recommended Needles:
Size 4 (3.5mm) Double Pointed Needles – set of 5 or size required to get gauge.
Supplies:
Removable stitch marker and tapestry needle.
Scraps of felt or safety eyes can be added for eyes and beak.
Fiber filling and/or weighted stuffing beads for stuffing.
You may also wish to insert a “rattle” or “jingle” insert to give your owl a voice.
Gauge:
Approximately 26 sts / 36 rows = 4” (10 cm) Stockinette Stitch
More stitches per inch would be acceptable because it will create a denser fabric (hiding and holding filling better) and will result in a slightly smaller owl. Fewer stitches per inch will not be acceptable.
