Oxford Cardigan
The Oxford Cardi is a lush, squishy, herringbone stitched, cropped cardigan that’s easily adjusted for length. This is the perfect quick make for late fall and winter!
-Cardigan is worked horizontally for the body in 3 panels: one back panel, and two front panels, then sleeves are worked in the round and seamed. Pockets are optional.
-Pattern is designed with 2” of positive ease.
-Sized according to CYC standards and is written as follows: XS(S,M,L)(XL,2X,3X,4X,5X)
-Tons of customization tips and tricks sprinkled throughout to ensure you get the fit you want. We are all unique in our bodies and it’s totally ok to need to alter a garments instructions to better fit you!
-The Herringbone Single Crochet (hsc) can be a little tricky if it’s your first time. There is a tutorial linked in the pattern, and don’t worry! It was my first time using it, and most of my testers. Once you get the hang of it, you won’t think twice!
-Pattern uses super bulky (or a heavy chunky) weight yarn and two hooks: an 8 mm hook (or size needed to obtain gauge) and a hook 1mm smaller for ribbing.
-This stitch creates a nice textured and warm fabric, perfect for chilly weather.
-Balloon sleeves are oversized at the arm and tapered at the wrist, accented with ribbing. There are notes on adjusting the fit and length of the sleeve to your own preference.
-Sample shown is a size S on a 34” bust. I’m 5’4”, but have a shorter torso than the average human, so please feel free to alter the length of your cardigan for your ideal fit.
-Comes with instructions for pockets! I think it looks cute with pockets, I like to store lil candies in them. Totally optional, some people hate being able to store things in a readily accessible spot. ;)
Happy crocheting!
