This is a listing for a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawl that is comprised of two different lace stitches. The focal stitch of the shawl is a fun one to work and is quite unusual. It is a “true” lace. The ornate lace edging stitch is added in the traditional Shetland manner, and gives a beautiful and graceful bottom to the shawl. It is attached last, and in the usual Shetland manner

The shawl measures 60 inches at the widest points across the top and is 26 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with a heavier of the fingering weight yarns, and is knit on size 7 (U.S.) needles. The shawl requires approximately 1100 yards of yarn.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The shawl was expertly test knitted by by Lisa Light who can be contacted at: emeania @gmail.com, and was made using Mrs. Crosby’s Hat Box yarn in colorway, French Chambray.
