This is a pattern for a freeform scarf. The words “pattern” and “freeform “ cancel each other out and that is why it is called an “oxymoron.”

If you are the type of knitter who must follow the rules and have a burning need to fix every little mistake, this is your chance to climb out of that rigid box.

Don’t worry, I am not throwing you into the deep end of the pool! Your two life savers are 12 pattern sections to choose from and yarn with long color repeats that creates its own design.

If you want to knit all 12 sections, select 2 skeins of the suggested yarns.

The fun starts when you shake one or two dice to determine the section, number of rows and number of stitches you will be using.

For intermediate knitters with skill in increasing and decreasing and a clear understanding of pattern reading.
