This pattern is a quick, beginner-friendly project. It takes approximately one hour to complete a single oyster.
Using size US 7 (4.5 mm) needles produces a little mollusk that measures 3.5” high. However, any size needles can be used for scaling, so long as the size is appropriate for your selected yarn.

GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important so long as there is consistency between yarn weights. The outer shell should be worked with a heavier yarn to achieve tight, bulky fabric. The inner shell should be worked using a lighter weight yarn to create a more gauzy, delicate fabric.

MATERIALS:
Aran or Bulky weight yarn for OUTER SHELL
DK or light worsted weight for INNER SHELL
Worsted weight for MEAT
Eye shadow in shades of brown (optional)
