This pattern is seamless worked from the top-down.
The only time when you will pick up stitches is for the sleeves.
It has an interesting detail on the shoulders from the Japanese Knitting Bible.
Neck ribbing is worked in the round and from there you will work front & back flat to join in the round after you have shaped the armholes.
