This simple repeating tweed pattern uses three main colors and has a contrasting applied I-cord border. For the size I made I used about 300 yards of each main color and 25 yards of the contrasting color.

My blanket came out about 38 by 35 inches (96.5 by 90 cm) but pattern includes cast on suggestions for other sizes up to 45 by 60 inches/114 by 152 cm, but note that larger sizes will require more yarn.
