Ozchilde Amigurumi Tin Woodsman
Found by Dorothy in the “Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, luckily my Tin Woodsman has less of a tendency to rust. Still, just to be sure, he also carries his trusty oil can with him. He brings his ax along to help clear the path for Dorothy and the other travelers to reach the amazing Emerald City. There, Oz grants him his wish: the gift of a heart, “made entirely of silk and stuffed with sawdust.” The Wizard soldered it into the Tin Man’s chest in the story, so I’ve left the scar where you can see it.
This listing is for the crochet pattern to make the Tin Woodsman. It includes instructions for creating a doll 22 inches tall by 10 inches wide, including his ax and oil can.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was written by L. Frank Baum and published in 1900. However, the book lapsed into public domain in 1956, so the characters are available for free use in other works – such as my dolls. :)
Please be aware that, although I try to make my patterns as simple and easy to understand as possible, you may get more value from them if you are an intermediate to experienced crocheter. A familiarity with sc, dc, increases, decreases, and working in the round will serve you in good stead. :)
Patterns ordered from me will be delivered by email in .pdf format, either as an attachment or a downloadable link, so please make sure you have a working email address included in your payment information.
