Picot Edged Dress to fit a child from 6 months to 3 years old

Design
The dress has a repeat pattern to the bottom of the skirt and picot edgings. The front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and sewn together. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and armhole edges.

Sizes
The pattern includes 3 sizes to fit child: 6-12 mths, 1-2 yrs and 2-3 years old.

Yarn
The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the 6-12 months size knitted using Sirdar Snuggly DK in shade Buttercup (526).

Tension
22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.

Needles
Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
