Knit our Dresses to fit a 36-56 cms/14-22 inch doll. Also suitable for a premature/newborn/0-3 month old baby.

Design:
All three dresses have a pretty frilled hemline and lacy pattern. For the Short Sleeved and Sleeveless Dresses, the front, back and sleeves are knitted separately on straight needles and sewn together. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline. For the Sleeveless Dress, stitches are picked up to finish off the armhole edges.
For the Pinafore Dress, the front and back are knitted separately and sewn together. Two buttons are sewn on for the straps.

Sizes:
The pattern includes 3 sizes. To fit doll 14-16 (17-19, 20-22) inches or 36-41 (43-48, 50-56) cms. Or will fit a premature (newborn, 0-3 month old) baby.

Yarn:
The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).
The picture shows the outfit knitted for 18 inch/46 cms doll using Sirdar Snuggly DK in shades: Pebble (524) and Precious (187).

Skill:
Intermediate. Written instructions in English provided. The frill requires working with a large amount of stitches for the cast on row and we recommend using a 3.25mm circular needle and to change to straight needles once the stitches have decreased.

Tension:
22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.

Needles:
Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles
3.25mm circular needle (optional for casting on the frilled edge)

Other requirements:
2 (3, 4) buttons for each Short Sleeved and Sleeveless Dress
2 (2, 2) buttons for Pinafore Dress
Stitch holders
Stitch markers
