Pachira Mittens
Construction:
The mittens are knitted from the cuff towards the fingertips. Stitches are cast on with Italian cast-on and worked in the round. The cable-pattern is worked on the front side of the mittens while the backside is worked in stockinette stitch. A hole for the thumb is made along the way. Decreases are made towards the end of the mitten and the last stitches are closed with Garter stitches. Finally, the thumb is worked by picking up stitches, working in stockinette stitch in the round and doing increases at the end.
