This simple shawl is crocheted using a one row repeat. The shawl is worked in rows to form a wrap around shape which is something between a hexagon and a crescent. The shape can be wrapped around the shoulders in pretty much any way you like thanks to the long tail ends to hold it in place.

The size is adjustable - you can start with a shorter foundation chain if you are using a heavier yarn and larger hook, or you can remove some of the 4 trapezium shaped panels for a scarf alternative.

You will need around 1100m of yarn for the version shown - 600m blue and 500m white. Please feel free to use and colour combination - this project could be a great stash buster if you wish to work multicoloured stripes!

You will also need 5 stitch markers - these are essential for marking the increase points (otherwise you’ll have to do a lot of counting!).
