Pacifica Mittens
Knitrino is a newly launched technology created by two sisters publishing interactive patterns. Knitrino is like Google Maps for knitting patterns: Click a stitch to see how to do it, highlight your current place, track your progress step by step, see charts in your yarn colors, see only your size, and more. Knitrino’s goal is to make knitting more accessible, and to help people grow into the knitters they aspire to be! This innovative app is for knitters longing for better pattern usability and navigation using small screens. There is no PDF associated with this pattern.
Knitrino is available in both iOS and Android, to get Knitrino click this link from your phone.
About this pattern
Beautiful in their simplicity, the Pacifica Mittens by Safiyyah Talley are inspired by motifs from traditional fisherman sweaters of the 19th century. The mittens combine an interesting texture using knit, purl, and slipped stitches to make something much more complex than it appears as you peacefully knit away. In worsted weight yarn it will fly off your needles, and maybe like us, you’ll want to pile them up for the next season of winter gifting. Click this link from your phone to get the pattern (or be invited to install the app for free)
We’ve chosen to knit them up in rich hues, botanically-dyed on US raised & milled Rambouillet from Local Color Farm & Fiber which gives an incredible stitch definition for these texture motifs. The bouncy nature of this yarn combined with the natural dye, is something truly unique and special.
Knitrino makes it easy to track your progress & celebrates with you as each section is completed. This is the perfect way to knit your first pair of mittens - you’ll be fully supported within the pattern itself, plus extra videos are available in the pattern guide. And if that’s not enough, we’re always here to answer any of your questions. We have just a few kits available including yarn and special Knitrino mitten blockers from @katrinkles with Octavia engraved on them to cheer you on!
What knitters are saying about Knitrino
“Wendy: Keeping track and following a pattern in Knitrino is effortless in a way I didn’t know I was missing till I had it.”
McKenzie: “I am super impressed with Knitrino. I thought working from an app would feel cumbersome, but instead it has made my usual pattern placekeeping system on paper seem cumbersome.”
Michelle: “I never want to knit another pattern that’s not in Knitrino ever again.”

Knitrino is a small indie production of quality, curated patterns, like a magazine. Our pricing reflects the value-added & labor involved in creating interactive patterns. Because of the nature of our interactive tools each pattern is lovingly built by us and takes countless hours to create. We are aiming to uplift the creative work of indie designers and pay them generously upfront, about twice what most magazines pay. Please reach out to us with any questions support@knitrino.com
