Saddle up for a ride on a winding trail by way of rolling hills, trotting alongside a bubbling creek and wandering through a shady grove of redwoods. Opening to a secluded meadow with the last hints of spring’s wildflowers and burnished golden by the summer sun, a vista is just ahead. Sauntering to the paddock fence, you take in the view of the deep tree-lined canyon, cooled by year-round streams. Miles away, you enjoy this moment of peace and tranquility. The mesh lace in Paddock Hills Shawl is redolent of paddock fences as they both allow for visibility. The mesh lace makes for a beautiful warm weather accessory and keeps you cool and stylish.

Paddock Hills Shawl is an hourglass-shaped shawl with shifting mesh lace patterns and bands of eyelets and cables. Two sections are worked separately and then joined together. Decreases in the mesh sections form the shawl’s hourglass shape.

Extra yarn is included in the yarn requirement. Any adjustments to the width and/or length will affect the yarn requirement. Gauge is not critical for this pattern, however, a different gauge will affect the size of your shawl and the amount of yarn used.

As fingering weight skeins have a wide range of yardage/meterage, this design’s length is adjustable for the amount of yarn you have. See pattern instructions.
