Sharply increased front sections of this richly textured shawl are created to fit a curvy figure. Small size (left) is for those with a more petite frame, large (above) will comfortably fit taller folks up to 4XL (or more petite folks who love to cuddle in oversized wooly comfort). The lushly ribbed border and mandarin-style collar add a pop of color. Instructions for a more subtle I-cord border included (not shown).

Size (excluding collar and border) after gentle blocking: Small (Large) 15 (19) inches from nape of neck to bottom along spine; 30 (38) inches at nape of neck from arm to arm; 14 (18) inches from top of shoulder to bottom of front

Yarn: Small: 492 yards (3 skeins) Main Color (Knit Picks City Tweed HW in ‘Marsh’), 250 yards (2 skeins) Contrast Color (Knit Picks City Tweed HW in Blue Blood)
Large: 600 yards (4 skeins) Main Color (Knit Picks Andes del Campo in ‘Mystery Heather’), 300 yards (2 skeins) Contrast Color (Knit Picks Andes del Campo in ‘Sunset Heather’)
OR equivalent amounts of any Aran-Weight yarn You can use bulky with the appropriate needle size for a fluid yet solid fabric if you wish, but gauge, yarn amounts and final size of shawl will differ.
Tools: #8 (5mm) 47 inch or longer circular needles or size to obtain gauge of 4 stitches per inch in stockinette. Alternatively, if you choose to use an applied I-cord edging (not shown), you only need a circular needle of 32 inches and 200 (250) yards of CC color. Needle 2 or 3 sizes larger for bind off (optional) 2 safety-pin style stitch markers.
