The dramatic color effect in this hat is achieved by using a variation of corrugated ribbing and a yarn dyed in gradually changing colors. The yarn and stitch pattern work together to create color combinations that really pop. Increases and decreases in the ribbing create the geometric pattern and give the hat a funky, wobbly silhouette.

Pattern includes sizing for baby - adult. Size is determined by needle and gauge, ranging from size 2 US/ 7 st per inch to size 4 US/6 st per inch. Requires both circular needles and double points in same size.

Requires ability to read charts, knit in the round, and do stranded knitting.

Recommended yarns: Kauni Effekt Garn will also look great in a handpainted sock yarn paired with a coordinating solid.

NOTE: I originally recommended Poems Sock as a substitute yarn. However, customers have told me they are unable to get gauge with the Poems sock - it is slightly thinner, more fingering than DK - so I am no longer recommending using Poems sock.
