Paintbox Hat & Mitts
Inspired by my Paintbox pullover these colourful accessories are great for using up leftover yarn. The hat is designed to be worn either slouchy or with the brim folded up for a fitted beanie. Both hat and mitts are worked in a simple all over texture pattern.
Sizes:
Hat: S(M, L) to fit head circumference approx. 19(21.5, 24) inches / 48(55, 61) cm
Mitts: S(M, L) to fit hand circumference approx. 6(7.5, 8.5) inches / 15(19, 21.5) cm
Skills Required:
Knit in the round
Pick up stitches
Yarn:
Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Merino (100% merino – 100g/220 yards):
(A) Navy x 1 skein
(B) Peacock Green x 1 skein
(C) Silver Heather x 1 skein
Hat: approx. 45(50, 60) yds / 41(46, 55) m of Colour A, 50(65, 75) yds / 46(60, 68) m of Colour B and 55(70, 80) yds / 50(64, 73) m of Colour C in a worsted weight yarn.
Mitts: approx. 25(40, 45) yds / 23(37, 41) m of Colour A, 25(40, 50) yds / 23(37, 46) m of Colour B and 40(55, 70) yds / 37(50, 64) m of Colour C in a worsted weight yarn.
Needles & Notions:
US 6 (4mm) 16 inch (40cm) circular needle and set of double pointed needles
US 7 (4.5mm) 16 inch (40cm) circular needle and set of double pointed needles
