The blanket has a circular shape and is knitted seamlessly from the center out. It features fun to knit flower stitch. The blanket’s size is very easy to customize.The sample was knitted in two colors, but the possibilities of colors are endless and more than 2 colors can be used.
It is very easy to keep track of increases in this pattern. You do not need to remember what increase row is coming up next, it is very easy to figure out when to increase and sequence of increases as you knit.
Finished Size
After blocking, sample blanket measures 131 cm (52 inches) in diameter.
Gauge
The gauge in the one section of the body pattern after blocking measures 10 sts x 20 rows in 5 cm x 8 cm.
Yarn
Color 1: about 1000 yards of 410yards/100g 4ply/fingering merino yarn.
Color 2: about 450 yards of 410yards/100g 4ply/fingering merino yarn.
For a half circle version of this pattern see Sunshine Daisy pattern. Keep in mind that the Sunshine Daisy shawl is not a true half circle. The increases are done differently from Painted Daisy pattern to create a slightly elongated shape and wider wingspan.
