Painted Desert Shawl
This is a lovely, floaty, drapey, fingering weight cotton shawl.
It uses:
-US I (5.5 mm) Tunisian crochet hook with cable at least 12” long
-US 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook
-1,560 yds of fingering weight yarn. I used 3 ¼ skeins of Wolle’s Yarn Creations Color Changing Cotton (2 different color ways) for a light and airy fabric.
-Locking stitch markers
-Tapestry needle and scissors for finishing
Approximate gauge in Tunisian simple stitch before blocking = 17 sts, 16 rows x 4” (10cm)
This shawl is worked sideways. This pattern can be adjusted to make a shorter or longer shawl by removing or adding rows in the center section. Using the Wolle’s Color Changing Cotton yarn, I didn’t need to do any blocking.
