For these samples, it is best to use multi-colored yarn or several solid threads. Various types of wool, acrylic are suitable. DK size or thicker should be used for good texture. However, you can use thinner cotton threads that retain volume. The gauge doesn’t matter!
This paisley pattern is a good starting point for learning freeform crochet. Add and change individual stitches and new elements to express your creativity! In my finished products, I use paisley to make headbands. Expand your possibilities and make gloves, hats, scarves, pillows or jackets. Let your imagination go!

To make this samples, I used multicolor yarn DK size (1.76 oz (50 g) / 135 yd (125 m)) Ambiance YarnArt and 3.5 mm hook.
Hint: use a hook without handle or you need a long tunisian hook too.

Used stitches: slip stitch, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, puff. Contains a basic Tunisian stitch too!
