The Pale Dogwood Cardigan is a simple cardigan with a V-neck and ¾-sleeves. The cardigan is worked primarily in Stockinette Stitch, with the front bands and the pockets in reverse Stockinette Stitch. The edges of the front bands, hem and cuffs are left to roll intentionally for a casual look. The cardigan is worked top down in one piece. The shoulder section is worked with simultaneous sleeve cap increases. Based on Barbara Walker’s “simultaneous set-in sleeve-method”, I’ve developed the complementary increase method used here to avoid having to pick up stitches for the sleeves. Instead, while working the initial rows for the back and fronts, you will simultaneously increase the stitches for the upper sleeve cap at the outer edges of your work (the pattern includes a photo tutorial). Short rows are used to shape the shoulders, then body and sleeves are worked together until you’ve reached the armhole depth. The sleeve stitches are placed on holders while the body, with slight A-Line shaping and inset pockets, is completed. The front bands are worked lengthwise with the body. Finally the sleeves are worked in the round.

Die Pale Dogwood Jacke ist eine einfache Jacke mit V-Ausschnitt und ¾-Ärmeln. Die Jacke ist hauptsächlich glatt rechts gestrickt, nur die Blenden und die Taschen sind glatt links gestrickt. Die Blenden und die unteren Ränder der Jacke und der Ärmel sind bewusst als Rollränder belassen, um ein lässiges Aussehen zu er¬zielen. Die Jacke wird von oben nach unten (top down) in einem Stück gestrickt. Die Schulterpartie wird mit gleichzeitigen Zun¬ahmen für die obere Armkugel gestrickt. Basierend auf der „simultaneous set-in sleeve-method” von Barbara Walker habe ich die hier verwendete ergänzende Zunahmemethode entwickelt, damit keine Maschen für die Ärmel herausgestrickt werden müssen. Gleichzeitig mit den ersten Reihen für die Vorderteile und das Rückenteil werden an den Rändern Maschen für die obere Armkugel zugenommen (die Anleitung beinhaltet hierfür ein Foto-Tutorial). Die Schulterpartie wird mit verkürzten Reihen geformt, danach werden Vorderteile und Rückenteil in einem Stück gestrickt, bis die Armlochtiefe erreicht ist. Nach Stilllegen der Ärmelmaschen werden zunächst die Vorderteile und das Rückenteil mit leichter A-Linie und eingestrickten Taschen fertiggestellt. Die Blenden werden längs mit den Vorderteilen mitgestrickt. Zuletzt werden die Ärmel in der Runde fertig gestrickt.
