Named for the area in Colorado where my family lives called the ‘Palmer Divide’ - these mittens are designed for life here, where it might be 60 degrees one day, snowing the next and everywhere in between from hour to hour in the fall and spring.

This pattern includes instructions for fingerless mittens as well as full mittens — with the full mittens a little longer in the cuff than the fingerless mittens for a cute layered look when worn together.

Slouchy mittens with a rolled cuff bottom for easy comfort, the fingerless mitts are longer on the outside of the hand to offer a little more coverage and warmth while still giving you the dexterity of uncovered fingers. Perfect for fall!

The full mittens will give you a little more warmth with full coverage, and then for those really chilly days, you can layer the two!

Skills needed: This pattern has a few intermediate techniques like short rows (fingerless mitts), knitting in the round (both styles), Kitchener bind off (full mittens), and icord bind off (fingerless mitts) but I have also included links to videos that I found very helpful when learning these skills. As I say with most of my more difficult patterns, I have written it in such a way that an adventurous beginner can take them on, and I am always happy to try and help out questions via email if i can.
