Pamela the doll
Crochet your own eighteenth century doll with Pamela, named for the eponymous heroine of Samuel Richardson’s book Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded published in 1740.
Her body is crocheted and is very flexible. The clothes are mostly knitted and can be made to take off if required for playing with, or you can sew her in and use her for a decoration.
She is made in 4 ply wool with a 1.5mm crochet hook, and the clothes are knitted using 3.75mm needles. You will need small amounts of yarn in different shades:
for the body choose a pale colour unless you want a dark complexion
scraps for hair and face embroidery
cap and trimmings
bodice
stomacher
skirt
shoes
You will also need a pair of 10mm doll eyes unless you choose to embroider them. And some very small beads for the necklace. Plus of course some toy stuffing.
She is 34cm tall.
