Construction
Pampas Hat is a classic take on the ’White Feather’ Pampas Grass. This decorative grass is world-famous for its massive size and theatrical floral display. Plumes emerge mid-summer and shine silky white above narrow blades of vibrant green. Plumes last through the winter, adding texture during the dormant season.
Starting at the ribbing you will work a simple 1x1 twisted rib, then work the pattern and ending with the crown shaping. The pattern is written in chart only and worked in the round. This hat was intended to be worked with heavy DK / light worsted weight yarn, making it a quick and fun knit. Note: the lace in this hat will open up and stretch slightly when washed.
The sample photographed used Malabrigo Rios (a light worsted weight yarn) in the color way Marte. The lace pattern is written in chart form only.
This pattern has not made it though all the stages of testing.
