Panda Hat (newborn to child sizes)
This Panda Hat is knitted with the Magic Loop method of knitting in the round using 36” or longer #7 circular needles. Easy-to-follow instructions for learning the Magic Loop are included. Features are knitted and sewn on after the hat is completed.
Easy-Intermediate skill level
MATERIALS
Yarn:
MC: 1 skein WHITE #4 worsted weight (such as Martha Stewart Crafts Extra Soft Wool Blend)
CC: 1 skein BLACK #4 worsted weight
A few yards PINK or RED #4 worsted weight for tongue.
Needles:
Size 7 - 47” circular needle (I recommend the 47” Addi Lace needles, but any 36” or longer needle will work)
or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge:
5 stitches/inch in stockinette stitch worked with a circular needle.
Notions:
Stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors, a little bit of polyester fiber fill stuffing for nose.
Optional: Buttons for eyes

BO: bind off
CC: contrasting color
CO: cast on
K: knit
k2tog: knit 2 together (decreasing 1 stitch)
kfb: knit front and back of stitch (adding 1 stitch)
MC: main color
P: purl
