Pattern for a knitted cushion cover featuring, on the front, a panda holding a stem of bamboo across his tummy and surrounded by a twirling climbing plant with bell-shaped flowers. The climbing plant twirls over the back of the cushion cover too.

In the centre of the back, the cushion has overlapping ribbed edges and is fastened with buttons. I managed to find panda-shaped buttons for the cushion cover in the photograph.

The cushion cover is knitted in one-piece, then folded over and the sides are sewn together. It is knitted using the intarsia method, but could be knitted plain and the motifs added afterwards using Duplicate Stitch.

The cover needs approximately 150gm of any 4ply wool in the main colour and oddments in black, cream and rose for the panda, plus a tiny amount of mid blue for his eyes. The flowers are in two shades of blue (or any colour of your choice), plus rose for the centres. The stems and leaves are in two shades of green.

The finished cushion cover measures approximately 13.25”/34cm square.

The pattern consists of two PDFs - one portrait-shaped containing typed knitting instructions and the other landscape-shaped containing both black-and-white and colour charts for the panda/flowers design.
