This pattern was inspired by my original baby panda graphghan pattern and adapted for mosaic crochet.

This pattern was designed to be worked in overlay mosaic crochet, working with one color at a time. It is suitable for adventurous beginners through advanced crocheters. The pattern is in English and uses US crochet terminology.

The pattern includes a charted graph on one page for viewing on a computer or tablet and on several pages for printing, with double crochet stitches marked with Xs and written instructions for working both in rows from the bottom up and working in the round. Basic mosaic crochet information, a tutorial for joining blocks made in the round and border instructions are also included. Links to helpful tutorials are included on the last page.

The finished size will depend on your tension and choice of yarn. Using worsted weight yarn the finished size is approximately 38x38”. Using dk weight yarn the finished size is approximately 31x31”. This makes a great baby, toddler, or lap size blanket.

Materials needed:
Worsted weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors*
Color A (white) approx 675 yds
Color B (darker contrast color) approx 675 yds
Border (contrast color) approx 300 yds
Other size yarns such as DK weight will work well for this project using the appropriate hook size for the yarn. The finished size and estimated yarn amounts will be different.

Size H/5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain a gauge of about 3.5 stitches per inch for worsted weight yarn (14 stitches x 14 rows = 4”) or

Size G/4mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain a gauge of about 4.5 stitches per inch for dk weight yarn (18 stitches x 18 rows = 4”)
