The Panda motif is knit of doubled heavy worsted weight yarn on #8 needles to make a thick, cushy motif that won’t lose its shape. Starting at the bottom of the motif, increasing, then decreasing for face, ears are knit on of black yarn, black eye patches are worked directly onto the face, as is the nose, mouth detail is added with surface crochet and finally eyes are 2 buttons sewn on top of each other to provide contrast. Bobble or embroidery can be substituted if making as a toy for a child or pet. The motif can be used as a potholder, scrubbie, applique, decoration, purse, sachet or toy.
