Two versions of the Rainbow Wings shawl are shown on the pattern page. The true rainbow colored one (the original) was designed and knit by Sue Mixer and used somewhat less than full balls of 7 different colors (Sue had done some swatching and knitting already and had used some of the Panda Silk up) and so this version actually used more like 5.5 - 50 gr.balls.

The larger version was knit for CPY using 7 full balls of Panda Silk (204 yds/50 gr) by Helen Pope. She slightly altered the bottom edge of the pattern by ending with 5-6 rows of garter st instead of the rolled edge of the original.
